File Preparation

  1. Download our guides to ensure a more optimal print result.
  2. Be sure to DELETE any hidden layers that are not intended to print (ie: setup guide layers or other hidden artwork layers) to ensure no risk of them appearing on the final print.
  3. Each job (including multiple paged projects) must be submitted as a single PDF file. Ensure that all pages are the same size.
  4. Files must be submitted with proper orientation to ensure proper back up.
  5. It is best to try to avoid using borders in your design. If a border is too close to the trim, the trim may be slightly off-center.
  6. File must consist of 1/8" bleed and all important art and text must be within the safety margin.
  7. Ensure that your PDF is high res and that all images are CMYK at 300 DPI.
  8. Black type should have the following values: C0, M0, Y0, K100.
  9. Embed or outline all fonts.
  10. For best colour results, supply a CMYK only files.

How do I submit my files?

Where is Brochure Source located?
Brochure Source is located in Toronto, Ontario. Our main press is located in Mississauga, Ontario, with satellite presses located in Markham Ontario, and Quebec.

Where do you ship to?
Brochure Source currently services print customers from coast-to-coast, across Canada, in every province from Newfoundland to British Columbia. Through our volume, we have managed to negotiate discount shipping rates that are very competitive. We ship across Canada on a daily basis.

Can I pick-up my order myself? 

All orders are shipped via UPS. Production times vary product to product.

What is your turnaround time?

  • Most brochures are 4 - 5 days
  • Most postcards & business cards ship within 48 - 72 hrs, when submitted by 11am
  • We can service requests for same day shipping, or even faster turnaround - if you're in a rush, give us a call!
  • Custom items, allow at least 5 – 12 business days for production. Custom items include Pocket Folders, items requiring saddle-stitching / bindery services, and items requiring special die-cuts & non-traditional folds / scoring.

What do you mean by ‘full colour’? Do you accept PANTONE colours? 

‘Full colour’ refers to industry standard 4-colour CMYK process printing. Pricing does not reflect the inclusion of PANTONE colours, which will alter costs and must be quoted separately. To adhere to the pricing structure quoted on this site, do not include PANTONE values in your submitted file. Submissions should use the CMYK colour system, only.

Do I receive a proof?
We only accept PDFs for printing – hence, your submitted PDF is your proof – review it carefully! Upon request, we can email a digital press-proof with 'printer's marks'.

What is a minimum order?
Minimum orders vary by product, but you can order as few as 25 items! We have pricing for printing available for all budgets.

Do you provide Custom Quotes? I don’t see what I’m looking for.
Yes. However, we would highly encourage you to base your design on one of our pre-existing product-sizes / templates. You will be ahead in time & possibly cost.

Do you offer Graphic Design services? 
Yes. We have a team of professional, experienced Graphic Designers ready to assist with your next design requirement. Our design rate is $55/ hr. Our designers will work with you personally to ensure your satisfaction with the final product. 

What if I am not happy with my product? Can I return it?
For design problems, we cannot accept returns, and all sales are final – however, if you respect our submission guidelines, there should be no problems. For best results, we recommend you use the services of a professional graphic designer.

If you feel that your problem is a technical printing issue, and not a design issue, certainly contact us right away (within 7 days of receipt) and we will investigate your concerns. If the problem is caused by a technical printing issue, we will reprint your order.
